Shoko Festival 2014 Ready to Roar

International artists and new media practitioners from the United States of America, Brazil United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Zimbabwe are converging in Harare for the fourth edition of Shoko Festival under the theme Re-Inspire Re-Imagine at Alex Sports Club Milton Park, Harare.

The festival kicks off Thursday 25 September with the Hub trainings on New Media & Citizen Journalism in the morning and later in the evening a massive Comedy Night plus a DJ party after. Friday the 26th will see the Hub Awards on New Media and Citizen Journalism and in the evening will be concerts on the Chiwoniso Maraire mainstage plus a DJ party with DJ Rax & Raydizz in to the morning. The Saturday Fiesta starts mid morning with fun activities and performances all day and Night with a DJ party by DJ Jason Leroux to the next morning. To finish the festival on the 28th Shoko moves to Chitungwiza at Zengeza 2 Shops with a Peace in the Hood Concert.

Shoko 2014 will feature Nneka (Germany-Nigeria), The Layabouts, Rodney P & Fallacy (UK), Loyiso Gola & Chester Missing (South Africa), Buddy Wakefield & Ra Brown (USA) Sir Black (Ghana), Timothy Mwaura (Kenya) plus many more local acts.

Shoko Festival is Zimbabwe’s biggest festival of urban culture. It will feature Electronic Dance Music, DJ Parties, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Comedy, Spoken Word, New media discussions, and Workshops. Shoko is produced by Magamba Network and is set to come alive from the 25th – 28th September 2014.
