The recent job action by Caps United players at Mandava Stadium is not the best way of negotiating or demand unpaid allowances. Surely how could a respected team like Kepekepe give away a crucial match like the ZNA Charity Shield to FC Platinum only because they were owed unpaid allowances, bonuses and salaries by their pay master? Of course in football you win some and lose some, but the 6-0 trumping at the hands of the hosting club, FC Platinum, was just transparent enough for even the blind to see that Kepekepe threw away the game in protest. This was exposed by the fact that the Green Machine players had earlier refused to travel for the match citing unpaid allowances among other dues. Doesn’t ZIFA has the mandate to do something about such ‘disgruntled’ players who bring the beautiful game into disrepute – Moses Siwela, disgruntled Kepekepe fan, Dangamvura, Mutare.
Pleas by the country’s highest ranked tennis star, Takanyi Garanganga for financial assistance should be heeded by all.
