Topping the bill is Equina – making her first run of the season.
The four-year-old filly from the Amy Bronkhors stable will have jockey Karl Zechner following a favourable draw of two, but not an equally good weight, as she will this time be forced to carry 60.5 kgs, compared to the 57 kgs she carried when she won the Castle Tankard, OK Grand Challenge and the Champion Fillies Stakes last season.
Most of the top horses have been accepted for this $9,000 event, with the newcomer being the Lisa Harris-trained Luminous Love. The filly will have Marco Van Rensburg to guide her through the course. Two local horses – Captain’s Tiger from the Alyson Wright stable and Forty One, now under the guidance of Harris also join the field.
