
The above statements suggest that the failure of the look east policy must be blamed on the Chinese but that is not the case. Zimbabwe failed the policy. China has given lots of money to zimbabwe of the years and yes we were also very accommodating. At the same time, we failed to manage the funds we received.
If i give a beggar US$10 000 and he decides to go out there and buy himself a fancy car that he cannot afford to put fuel in or service regularly instead of renting a small apartment and investing that money so that it grows, its highly unlikely that I will ever give him that sum of money again.
