Ebola forces World Cup relocation

The Africa regional qualifiers for the women's 2016 World Cup qualifiers have been moved from Uganda to Johanesburg, South Africa due to the ebola virus that is ravaging a number of African countries.

Zimbabwe Cricket spokesperson Lovemore Banda revealed that the qualifiers which will involve Kenya, Uganda and South Africa will be held frim 13 to 16 December this time in Johannesburg and not in kampala as has been earlier scheduled.

The Zimbabwean team is in South Africa for practice matches against Western Province women's team in preparation for the qualifiers.

Zimbabwe are bidding to qualify for the Worlf Cup for the first time since the country 's admission to international sport in 1980.

The men's team which is in Bangladesh has automatic entry to the 2015 World Cup.

They are in the same group witb India, South Africa, the West Indies, Pakistan, Ireland and the UAE.
