Kaindu was early this month forced to leave Bosso in a huff, after he failed to guide the Bulawayo side to league glory in three seasons, a move that has since backfired as the team is yet to register a win since the Zambian’s departure.
His new job at Triangle should give him the opportunity to prove he still has great skills yet to be witnessed in the coaching arena and also show Bosso why they were wrong in parting ways with him.
During the Sugar Sugar boys’ epic battle with Caps United over the weekend, Kaindu watched the match from the terraces, but his presence seemed to have counted in the team’s victory.
Though efforts to get a comment from Kaindu did not bear fruit, sources at the club confirmed that he had played a part in psyching up the players ahead of the match. But he is expected to sit on Triangle’s technical bench with coach Biggie Zuze in the team’s coming fixture against Chicken Inn away in Bulawayo.
At Triangle, Kaindu will find young and upcoming players with good depth, including goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu, former Eagles skipper Courage Denias, Cabby Kamhapa, Hardlife Muvindi and the impressive Praise Tonha.
According to sources, Kaindu’s only term of reference so far is simply to make sure Triangle rise from the relegation zone to a safer position. The team is positioned fourth from the bottom on the log, separated by only three points adrift of Chapungu who lie 10th. If Kaindu can win three of the remaining four matches, his mission would have been simply accomplished.
Meanwhile, Highlanders, who are now battling for a top four finish after they bolted out of the championship race, face Hwange in their coming league encounter- a match that the side should win to redeem lost pride. However, indiscipline among the players seems to be a great challenge, amid reports that top goal scorer Charles Sibanda has already crossed swords with caretaker coach, Mark Mathe.
