I don’t see anything wrong with the Highlanders team for the past three seasons. The team has been losing the league championship either on goal difference or just by a point to Dynamos. Last year Bosso won a cup with more cash prize than the championship. Is this what you call a crisis? Yes losing to Dynamos is bitter pill to swallow but that does not make the team bad. Lets just go back to our junior policy and call back people like Ali Dube, Benjamin Moyo, Madinda Ndlovu and Enerst Sibanda to assume different roles at the club. There is nothing wrong to be a shona speaking player at Highlanders. The great Nhamo Shambira was not a ndebele but settled comfortably at Bosso. It’s true that we should find our old winning ways through grooming youngsters, but we must have the right people at the right places.
Highlanders is one of the oldest clubs in Africa just like Orlando Pirates of South Africa. It is supposed to be the richest in Zimbabwe because of its huge following. It’s not like Dynamos plays better football than us, but they always have the necessary psychological advantage over us. My advice is simple. Let’s go back to our culture of grooming youngsters from Mzilikazi High and other schools. Take my advice and in five years time Bosso will be the team to beat in the country and across the continent – PM, Highlanders fan, South Africa
