Mpumalanga Black Aces coach, Clive Barker, has shrugged off renewed interest in Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro.

Ndoro has continued with his explosive form in his second season with the Amazayoni, sparking renewed interest from some of the Absa Premiership’s biggest clubs, who are said to be already lining their purses as they prepare to swoop on the former Chicken Inn striker in the January transfer window.

The South African media has touted former champions Orlando Pirates as frontrunners to land the Zimbabwe Warriors star, while reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns were also reported as having a keen interest in taking him to Pretoria.

However, Barker insisted that Ndoro would stay put in Mpumalanga, insisting those trying to lure the striker should "just forget about him".

"If I had to choose between Lionel Messi (Barcelona and Argentine star) and Tendai Ndoro, I would back my player as he is set for bigger recognition," Barker said. "Ndoro is staying with us and I have made that clear to the directors and the player. I have asked him to focus on his stay at Aces and he knows how much I value him. He is a terrific player who has all the attributes to do really well in his career.”

The former Zimbabwe Golden Boot winner has been one of the most sought-after players in the Absa Premiership lately, despite having played only the second half of last season, where he scored seven league goals and fell three short of eventual Golden Boot Award winner, Bernard Parker of Kaizer Chiefs.

He has been explosive again this season, either scoring goals or assisting his strike partner, the highly-experienced Zambian, Collins Mbesuma, who recently joined the Aces attack.
