Triumph for Nduna

Former Zimbabwe youth international Zimiseleni 'Nduna' Moyo won the Zambian Super League championship with Zesco United at the weekend. It became his second championship medal with a Zambian outfit, after he won his first championship medal with the same club in 2010.

'Team Ya Ziko' as United won the league with 59 points, after they beat Kabwe Warriors a 3-1 at the weekend, as second-placed Zanaco tumbled 4-0 at Red Arrows. "All glory to the almighty God. The feeling of being a 2014 Zambian Super League champion is so awesome," Moyo said this week.

"This is a well-sponsored team and going for three years without winning the league was unbearable. The feeling is overwhelming and every player's wish is to be a champion. I am blessed to have achieved that goal in a foreign country. It's been a long journey but hard work, unity and dedication paid for us as a team.

“We appreciate the support we getting from the technical team and the supporters who are the core engineers of our crowning as champions. I will be returning home a happy man after breaking the record of becoming the first Zimbabwean to win a championship medal in Zambia."

Former Railstars left-back Moyo temporarily quit football after Zimbabwe went down the drain economically and politically in 2007, but revived his career after he was spotted by former Zambian great, Mwenya Chipepo while playing a social five aside match in a park in South Africa in 2010.
