The former dribbling wizard accused Mugadza of being the “worst coach ever” for the Mighty Warriors.
A former Mighty Warriors skipper, Mugadza was promoted to her current position in 2006, when she replaced Vernon Bowers.
"Mugadza is a failure,” declared Moyo, who once played alongside Mugadza at Bulawayo club New Orleans and in the Mighty Warriors set-up.
“Mugadza must quit or be fired from her position because she has let down the whole nation. There has been no improvement since she took over as coach, as we have failed to challenge for major tournaments. We used to be good and teams used to fear the Mighty Warriors, but even minnows like Botswana can beat us now.
"As much as I respect Mugadza as a sister and former captain of the Mighty Warriors, I believe she should do the honourable thing and quit before she causes further damage to the national side. We need someone capable to lead us forward. Should she refuse to quit, then the authorities must come forward and rescue our women’s soccer from her.”
Moyo also questioned Mugadza's coaching qualifications. "Honestly, I do not think she is a qualified coach. I believe she was appointed on political grounds,” she said and would not elaborate.
“Everyone is aware of the politics at ZIFA and Mugadza might be a beneficiary of that."
Moyo said there were many capable former players who could have been roped-in to coach the national side.
