The Zimbabwean international recently signed a pre-contract with Pretoria-based MTN8 champions, SuperSport United.
He is set to leave Chiefs at the expiry of his current contract in six months, a move that is set to free him from the mercy of notorious boo-boys at Naturena.
“We are proud to announce that we have landed the signature of Zimbabwean striker Kingston Nkhatha on a pre-contract,” said SuperSport in a statement earlier this week.
“He will join SuperSport United from 1 July 2015.”
During the past year, Amakhosi coach, Stuart Baxter has struggled to control club fans who frequently booed Nkatha.
“Nkhatha has not had a good relationship with the supporters and it won’t serve a purpose to keep him when we know that his heart is elsewhere,” said a Kaizer Chiefs source.
“Chiefs are preparing an offer to sell him now in January,” he reveals. Nkhatha’s agent Tim Sukazi has also not ruled out the possibility of his client moving to SuperSport immediately.
“It will depend on discussion between the two clubs. It’s possible,” said Sukazi.
Nkhatha, who has been the subject of harsh abuse from fans in recent matches, joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2012.
This season he has featured in 22 matches in all competitions for the Glamour Boys, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
Nkhatha signed a pre-contract agreement with United recently to begin a new chapter with Matsatsantsa in July.
However, the media has gathered that Amakhosi are willing to let the Zimbabwean striker move to Pretoria this month.
