This initiative is designed by stand up comedian turned hotelier Carl Joshua Ncube with the purpose of starting out 10 events in Kadoma to attract people to this once bustling mining town. Since taking over the hotel 2 months ago, the Ncube’s (Carl and Wife Nelsy) have sought to put Kadoma on the map using their experience in events and social media marketing.

According to Carl, this event may have started at the hotel but once parties like City of Kadoma and the rest of the business community buy into the vision then whole street of Herbert Chitepo in Kadoma will see a festival like scene on weekends with street parties, a carnival atmosphere celebrating the best Kadoma has to offer in entertainment, food, farm produce and crafts. “We are using our experience from last years FOOD FESTIVAL in Harare where international Food Network Siba Mtongana made an appearance. We hope to bring something new and exciting to Kadoma,” said Ncube.

This first BBQ Saturday will feature Carl doing some cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and stand up comedy and also a talent search, fresh farmers market and arts and crafts being displayed at this cute little hotel in Kadoma. Ncube hopes to use this initiative to help sponsor a soup kitchen run by the local Baptist Church, something that will bring comfort and help to the under privileged in Kadoma considering the winter months that are already upon us.

Carl has made an appeal to Zimbabweans to come out and support this initiative and enjoy a great day out with their families in Kadoma enjoying great entertainment and food and beverage as well as a romantic outdoor movie under the stars at night.

This event and many other initiatives in Kadoma are part of a bigger plan to bring glory back to "half way" stops on the highways of Zimbabwe
