OAUS activist in custody

Tichaona Danho, the OAUS member who was one of two who accompanied Itai Dzamara when he first handed in the original petition on 17th October 2014, has been in police custody since Wednesday, 22nd July. He had been called in to answer questions about an alleged threat towards a police officer.

Mr Danho reported to Harare Central Police Station as instructed in company of Advocate Kwaramba from Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR). He was kept for questioning and is still detained. This evening the situation is as follows: He has been charged and will appear in court Friday 24th July 2015.
