The residents marched from Chitima Musika area to the Civic center to submit a petition to Masvingo Town Clerk, Adolf Gusha. The procession was cut short by heavy police and army details in police vehicles who  arrested the procession leaders Prosper Tiringindi, John Mudavanhu and eight others.
The demonstration had been  cleared with the Zimbabwe Republic police.
Currently the protesters are being held at Masvingo Police station and have been denied access to lawyers
