Zimbabwe 20th in world netball

Zimbabwe’s netball team missed out of the ongoing World Cup, but are still among the world’s top 20 teams, according to the latest rankings released by world international netball controlling body.

According to the statistics Zimbabwe are also the sixth top netball team in Africa just behind South Africa, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia and Botswana.
South Africa are the top-ranked African team in fifth place, followed by Malawi in sixth place.
Zimbabwe are well ranked above such nations as Canada (21), the USA (25), and Switzerland in 28th position. Swaziland are the next top ranked nation after Zimbabwe but are way down the perking order in 29th position. Neighbours Namibia are in 32nd position.
South Africa, Uganda, Malawi, and Zambia are representing Africa at the 16-team World Cup that is currently going on in Australia and will end on August 16.
Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the World Cup, after they lost their group matches to Botswana and Uganda, who went on to top their group and qualify. Zambia topped the other group to also make the trip to Australia.
Zimbabwe managed to beat only Namibia in their group. South Africa and Malawi qualified automatically, after they finished in the top five in the last finals held in 2011.
