Attack on Majome and Misihairambwi-Mushonga is barbaric

And should be used to prove the Mugabe regime will not allow free and fair elections

Dear Editor,

My heart sank reading the account of the disrupted constitutional reform meeting in Mutare, where Chairperson of the Committee Hon. Jessie Majome and another member of the same committee Priscilla Misihairambwi-Mushonga were reportedly assaulted by Zanu PF thugs.
If Zanu PF thugs have the guts to openly and publicly assault members of a parliamentary committee gathering people’s views, what do you expect them to do to a lone villager in the middle of night. The murders of opposition activists of 2008 must still be very fresh in people’s minds, and have been well documented for SADC, the Africa Union and the United Nations to satisfy themselves of the ugly nature of Mugabe’s Zanu PF. Without the intervention of these bodies, the 2018 elections will be another blood bath, and that has to be stopped.
All this violence is triggered by the realisation by Mugabe and his party that they have lost support, hence the need to cow the people into submission again ahead of the 2018 elections.
And those who are being used by the repressive regime and its agents, please get back to your sense of humanity, do not be used.
