SPAN lang=EN-GB style=”COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: ‘Book Antiqua'”>We’ve got top quality news, views and interviews on SW Radio Africa, Zimbabwe’s Independent voice. SW Radio Africa – bringing Zimbabwe to Zimbabweans, wherever you are.

John and Mandisa present the weekday chat show Callback featuring the thoughts and voices of Zimbabweans at home and abroad. Tondi is now living in the UK and is very concerned that many Zim youth in the Diaspora are disinterested and apathetic about the situation in their mother land, although he acknowledges that this could be because they are so far away and preoccupied with their new lives. He is doing what he can to keep Zim on his agenda and he tells Mandisa about an upcoming event at Kingston University. Then, John chats to Themba, a Zimbabwean businessman who is based in South Africa from where he edits his newly launched magazine ‘African ID Lifestyle’. He does not hold much optimism about the current state of affairs in Zimbabwe. On Hot Seat, Violet’s guest is Lovemore Madhuku, Chairperson of the National Constitutional Assembly. He discusses the fallout between civil society and both factions of the MDC over the controversial amendment #18. On the programme Different Points of View, Duane Udd debates whether Mugabe should be given a ‘golden parachute’, or made answerable for his crimes against Zimbabwe and humanity.

On Wednesday’s Callback, Mandisa speaks to Benjamin in New Zealand. He speaks about the often criticised ‘Diasporans’. He says that people back home wrongly believe that those in the Diaspora have abandoned their home and lost their patriotism. In Cathy Buckle’s Letter from Zimbabwe she describes life in Zimbabwe with no food, no water, no electricity, and where people are struggling to survive, “yet MP’s both from the ruling party and the opposition do nothing to put an end to this time of horror.”

As usual we have more Callback on Thursday where Mandisa chats to Duty who describes the ‘acutely serious hunger’ situation in Zimbabwe. Beef is now priced way beyond the reach of most people, having trebled in price in just 4 months, and employers have no choice but to allow their employees time to ‘hunt and gather’ for food. It’s either that or they must accept that workers will be too hungry to perform. Also in our programming Lance presents Behind the Headlines and Reporters’ Forum; there’s In the Balance with Gugulethu Moyo, plus the latest news every weekday on Newsreel.
