The match will be played in Kwekwe from October 8 to11, as the southern African country enjoys a return to Test action after years on the sidelines.
The four-day first-class match will be followed up by a three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Zimbabwe and Kenya to be played on October 14, 16 and 18 at the Harare Sports Club, the ICC said in statement released from United Arab Emirates.
Kenya are second on the ICC Intercontinental Cup points table on 23 points, six points behind leaders Scotland while Zimbabwe XI played their only match in the tournament against Afghanistan last month in which they earned three points compared to Afghanistans six for a first-innings lead. ??
In the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship table, 10th-ranked Zimbabwe lead 12th-placed Kenya by 25 points. ? But Kenya can leapfrog Zimbabwe if they win all the three ODIs.
A 2-1 win for Kenya would also be enough to pull Zimbabwe down to 11th position on 20 points but in that situation Kenya would stay 12th.
In contrast, if Zimbabwe sweep the series they would gain four ratings points and would widen the gap with Kenya to 29 points.
