Mukoko free at last

jestina_mukoko_4EDITOR - I cannot hide my joy and profound happiness over the news that Jestina Mukoko is free. We celebrate. All that physical and psychological harm, all that emotional damage, I just have no idea how she will recover from it.

I I also hope no new fabrications are going to be put in front of her again. The legal system in Zimbabwe has become so corrupt I always have a sad feeling that the sadists will commence newly concocted charges against her again in order to break her.

She must be left free as the wind again, with her passport, to travel and taste the fresh air of freedom.

What a courageous woman! We must all congratulate her for the work she does, not for herself, but for all Zimbabweans, for all humanity, for those who still have hope in the resilience of the human spirit. CHENJERAI HOVE, by e-mail

Hate speech the norm

EDITOR – Your Editorial This is unbelievable on August 6 deserves support from the people of the Diaspora.

I thought I was the only one who was tired of hate speech. It has definitely become the norm within media circles. Instead of sticking to our obligation of providing entertainment, education and information, the media has become a live weapon for firing hate speech.

The media, with the amount of space it has, and the position it holds in the public, is supposed to be at the fore front of preaching the gospel of inclusively.

As a peace loving Pastor may I take this opportunity to appeal to the inclusive government to do something to end this bad established tendency of writing hate speech. CALVARY MUKWECHENI, Mutare
