The organisers told The Zimbabwean on Sunday that no club from Zimbabwe had expressed interest in one of the worlds biggest football exhibition, which takes place in Johannesburg from November 28-30.
There will be no exhibitors from Zimbabwe. We sent out invitations to teams that were interested in exhibiting but unfortunately, we did not get any response, said an official.
The failure to exhibit at the event denies the clubs an opportunity to showcase their brands to an international market.
For 14 years, across five different continents, Soccerex has successfully brought together footballs key decision makers from over 120 countries to learn, network and do business.
This years edition will be the third and final convention in South Africa before the event moves to Rio, Brazil, from 20102013, and will be the football industrys final opportunity to gather in South Africa ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
With the final World Cup draw taking place in Cape Town just two days after Soccerex 09, we are expecting a strong presence from FIFA and all competing federations, along with all the brands, agencies and suppliers involved in 2010 FIFA World Cup, organisers said.
