It is our hope that the information provided will be useful to our constituency of readership, particularly the leaders at the local level and civil society practitioners, in informing and shaping their choice of developmental objectives and initiatives.

Bulawayo- The youth of Bulawayo have called for the decentralisation of power together with matching funds from central government to provinces so as to allow the current and future generations to be well-informed on what the national youth fund is. The youth said they want to acquire information about the fund, especially those in marginalized areas, so that they apply for the loans and gain access to national resources countrywide.

-The cabinet of Zimbabwe has been availed with an analysis of the November 2009 ZIMSEC examination results by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, that showed a significant decline in the number of passes between 2008 and 2009. The report revealed that pupils in rural areas in Matabeleland North, with the lowest percentage, were the most affected by the economic meltdown, which led to teachers strikes.

Clean the City of Bulawayo Initiative, 15th May 2010, 0930 1200Hrs

Maximised Lifestyle/ Action in Ministry [AIM] and Zimbabwe National Churches Revival Initiative will jointly undertake a Clean the City of Bulawayo Initiative on Saturday 15th May 2010 starting at 0900 – 1200Hrs.

The clean up will be done along George Silundika Avenue from 14th Avenue right through to the City Hall, [Leopold Takawira]. All are invited to participate in this social responsibility initiative.

Bulawayo Agenda invites you to a focus group meeting at the Democracy Centre on the 13th of May at 2pm.
