Shipping debacle clarified

EDITOR - Regarding the article in The Zimbabwean on 11th May, where it was reported in your paper that a Zimbabwean couple feared they had lost both their personal belongings and 4,000 paid to ship them by sea freight to Zimbabwe, the couple concerned have been contacted by Godfrey Mugadza of GT Shipping and Bobnus Zonda of Everyday Freight.

The couple have been assured that their goods are safe and they feel confident that they will now receive the goods next month.

Godfrey Mugadza Kanengoni has pointed out to the couple that his family name is Mugadza Kanengoni, Godie Khane is an email abbreviation of that name, just as many people use acronyms for their identity. Also, he has never used the name Richard Semba, neither does he know a man of that name.

The couple state: We would like The Zimbabwean to clarify the fact that neither GT Shipping nor Everyday Freight are Bogus companies but legitimate companies which have been operating for some time. We wish to make it clear that, at no time, in our original letter to The Zimbabwean, did we use the term Bogus when referring to either G T Shipping or to Everyday Freight. Bobnus Zonda of Everyday Freight, who will undertake the actual shipping, has assured us the container will leave at the end of May as he anticipates the storage fees being covered by selling the remaining space in the container. We are grateful that this matter is now being amicably resolved. CONCERNED, by e-mail
