mdc_logoThe two councillors in Nyanga, Manicaland province who defected from the MDC to join Zanu PF are criminals who are running away from the law after conning villagers over US$5 000 meant for sourcing agricultural inputs.

They have simply gone home to Zanu PF, the sanatorium of corrupt and fraudulent public officials. Godfrey Sadowera of Ward 3, Nyanga North and Moses Matesva of Ward 29, Nyanga South, conned villagers in their respective wards claiming that they could source agricultural inputs for them in the last agricultural season.

However, nothing materialised from the deals and the two councillors pocketed the money. According to Nyanga North MP, Hon. Douglas Mwonzora, the MDC leadership in the area came hard on them and they were made to account what had happened to the villagers monies. This forced the councillors to defect to Zanu PF where they hope to get protection for their fraudulent activities. As a Party of Excellence, the MDC does not tolerate any form of criminality and the two councillors have failed to pass the test.

Early this year, the MDC expelled all Chitungwiza councillors on allegations of corruption and the Nyanga councillors have not waited for the moral compass of the MDC to show them the exit door. They have also shown that they have no morality and they have gone home to Zanu PF. Meanwhile, a headman in Mudzi Norths Kajanda Village, Farai Kajanda was arrested last week for leading a team of Zanu PF supporters in torching the houses of two MDC supporters early this month, saying they should vacate the area ahead of the Constitution outreach programme

Kajanda led a group of Zanu PF supporters to burn to the ground the houses belonging to MDC activists, Chitengu Fore and Gabriel Karonga. Fore is the Youth Assembly chairperson for the ward while Karonga is the ward organising secretary. According to Fore and Karonga, Kajanda organised a Zanu PF rally in the area where said MDC activists should leave the area.

On the same night, Kajanda ganged up with Zanu PF youths in burning the MDCs supporters houses. Although no-one was injured in the arson, they lost most of their property, which included food stocks.

Together, united, winning, ready for real change.
