Zanu clash over Boka floors

tobacco_auctionHARARE - The planned move by Zanu (PF) to acquire the lucrative Boka Tobacco Auction Floors has hit a brick wall after the front company was stripped of its tobacco trading licence.

Insults were traded between the Minister of Agriculture Joseph Made and directors of Zitac, Caleb Dengu and Wilson Nyabonda, whose company has had its licence cancelled by the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB).

In a statement, Dengu and Nyabonda claimed that Made had influenced the TIMB’s decision to rescind its licence. Made, however, said he had no influence on how TIMB granted licences.

This week, Boka family members were happy to see an end to 15 years of acrimonious relations between Zitac and Boka.
