While in custody they were denied food and medical treatment, as the police officers claimed they were following orders from above not to give them any food or to have them treated.
Meanwhile, Mutasa Central MP, Hon. Trevor Saruwaka yesterday officially opened a US$8 690 mortuary facility at St Barbra Mission Hospital that was constructed with the assistance of the British Embassy in Harare. The British Embassy further made a donation of a generator to the hospital, 140 textbooks to St Barbra Primary School and 200 textbooks to St Barbra Secondary School. Through the Mutare Central Constituency Development Fund, Hon. Saruwaka donated a computer and a printer to St Barbra Primary School. The occasion was attended by hundreds villagers from around St Barbra.
