Rautenbach eyes the ramp in Gauteng

conrad_ford_g_fuelHARARE - Zimbabwean motor rally icon Conrad Rautenbach will be racing in his G-Fuel Ford Fiesta in the fourth leg of the South African Rally Championships, the Toyota Gauteng Rally, hoping for another victory tomorrow to extend his lead.

Rautenbach has an 18-point advantage after seeing the ramp twice and a third-place finish in the championships. He first won the Toyota Zimbabwe Challenge Rally that opened the African Rally Championships to claim the Sasol Rally of South Africa, which was both the second leg of the ARC and South African Rally Championships, before his recent the Zambia international rally victory.
The Zimbabwean driver, together with his French co-driver Nicolas Klinger, will be expected to take part in the fourth leg of the FIA African Rally Championship, the Kenya Safari Rally from June 17-19. They have proved a force to reckon with in the continental championships posing a treat to defending African champion, Zimbabwean Jamie Whyte, after a series of victories that have seen them in control of the pace in the race to the big title.
The Kenyan Rally is the fourth on the ARC calendar and Rautenbach has romped to victory three times in the continental competition so far, hoping to make his Kenyan tour his fourth to keep track of the continental crown.
