Taurai Muyambo of Heritage and Tafara Hleruka from Guinea Fowl are set to compete in the boys’ 100m, while Tsitsi Mahachi of Chisipite will line up in the girls’ 100m and 200m categories.

Tatenda Shumba of Kutama College will represent the country in the triple and long jump. Harare Athletics Board secretary general Silas Muringani said he expected Team Zimbabwe to do well at the competition.

He said all the six athletes were selected at the inter-schools and the National Association of School Heads competition that was held recently in Bindura.

“I think the team will do well. We hope they will bring medals home but since this is a developmental competition we will be more concerned about their finishing times," he said.
