Sharing a grave

There was drama at the burial of a new farmer, Ngonidzashe Muza, of Tandare Village last Thursday, when a neighbouring female war veteran jumped into the grave to apologise for threatening the man.

The war veteran, whose relatives pleaded for her anonymity, said:

"I had sharp differences with the deceased and recently warned him that he would pay the ultimate price for downsizing my farm. I did not mean what I said to him".

The war veteran had to be forcibly removed from the grave and local Church members struggled to restrain her during the burial.

Eye witnesses said the war veteran recently harvested Muza's tobacco crop before shifting pegs indicating farm demarcations in order to downsize his farm. A bitter dispute ensued, resulting in the war veteran suggesting that Muza's days would be numbered.

Muza collapsed at his workplace in Marondera last Tuesday afternoon and was pronounced dead on arrival at Marondera Provincial Hospital.
