Gwaze leads Zim to victory

International Master Robert Gwaze came back with a bang from the World Cup. Though he lost 1,5-0,5 he went down fighting. He lost his first game when he had the black pieces, but turned on the power when he drew the second game with one of the highly rated players in the tourney.

Team Zimbabwe had lost their first game at the 10th All Africa games 3,5-0,5 to Egypt. Dion Moyo drew against GM El Gindy. Then Gwaze came in and stabilised the team. He led them to a 3-1 trouncing of Kenya. Spencer Masango is the only one who lost. In the following game against Botswana they won 3,5-0,5 with Masango sharing the spoils.

Zimbabwe will now play rivals Zambia in an interesting duel.
