“There is no question that our country is now a preferred destination for significant public and private investments”, Mondlane told a seminar on his Ministry’s human resources, held in the southern town of Namaacha. “This means that we must adjust our institution to the demand for security arising from the implantation of large scale projects throughout the country, as well as from demographic and urban growth”.
The Interior Ministry had to rethink its human, material and logistical resources, he added.
“In a pragmatic and realistic manner”, Mondlane said, “we must project our future development, taking into account the challenges and the available resources”.
He told the Ministry’s human resource managers “in the management of human resources, and in the management of public assets in general, we are going to change. We are going to observe the laws, we are going to respect the powers allocated by law, and we shall become an institution that prides itself on its professionalism”.
The seminar, held under the theme “Ministry of the Interior, improving the development of human capital capacities in order to strengthen efficiency and effectiveness in providing quality services to citizens”, dealt with, in particular, the strategic planning of human resources.
