The Zimbabwe Youth Foundation Development Trust recently donated about 600 books to the Hurungwe West Development Association, which is identifying the most disadvantaged schools.
The donation is part of ZYFDT’s literacy initiative, which aims to enhance educational standards in the country’s most impoverished areas such as Hurungwe in Mashonaland West.
“Hurungwe is one of those areas that is remote and marginalized. Schools there lack educational infrastructure and are in desperate need of books and other educational facilities,” James Bayanai, the ZYFDT Director, told The Zimbabwean.
The initiative is targeting about 50 schools.
