““This is not just right. These are young people who never went to war yet we have war veterans who are dying before they realise what they fought for,” he said.
Chihosa farm is owned by Collen Gura, a former mining executive with Metallon Gold who retired in 2011. He has 60 hectares of macadamia and 10 hectares of avocado. “These people are being driven by greed not passion for farming. All they want to harvest where someone has invested,” said Mlambo. He blasted Chinotimba for destroying 100 hectares of seedlings, which dried up during his stay at Chihosa. “He has no interest in farming but just to harvest macadamia,” said Mlambo.
Chipinge District Administrator, Edgars Seenza, said the matter has been put to rest. “The matter has been resolved amicably. It`s not true that Chinotimba`s son took the whole farm from Gura. He is a son of a war veteran and was also allocated a portion,” he said.
