State media reports in Zimbabwe quoted Limpopo police spokesperson Ronel Otto saying the dead were part of the group who were crossing into South Africa through an illegal entry point near the New Limpopo Bridge.
Otto said the bodies had been taken to a mortuary in Musina and the cops had opened and “inquest docketâ€.
Authorities found the injured child in the surrounding area Thursday morning‚ a spokesperson from the ER24 paramedics Pieter Rossouw said in a statement.
“The child was crying for help. Authorities then called for medical assistance. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that three adult males had sustained fatal injuries.”
The critically injured child was transported by provincial medical services to Musina Hospital for further treatment.
