ZEF notes in particular that the recent position articulated by Zimbabwe’s war veterans (who to date constituted the bulwark of President Mugabe’s unquestioning supporters) comes at a time when there is intensifying protests inside and outside Zimbabwe against ZANU (PF) misrule. The recent pronouncements by the Leader of the War Veterans, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, is a vindication of what civil society and opposition political parties have been proclaiming over the years. In Zimbabwe elections are routinely rigged; crimes against humanity and impunity are the order of the day; corruption is endemic and the government of President Robert Mugabe has lost legitimacy.
The Zimbabwe Exiles Forum (ZEF) urges the world to note and act on this admission. We also appeal to the African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa to reconsider its position on Zimbabwe in light of this statement. To the people of Zimbabwe, ZEF supports #This Flag, #Tajamuka and all other progressive forces fighting for long overdue change. You should also be part of this struggle for citizens to reclaim their freedom. ZEF encourages the intensification of the protests inside and at the borders of Zimbabwe. We urge more solidarity from civil society, churches and labour within the region. Now is the time of not turning the other cheek. Now is the time to stand up to bullying by ZANU (PF) remnants of corruption.
ZEF is aggrieved some plunderers in the youth wing of ZANU (PF) have the audacity to challenge the police and to urge the Police Commissioner “to step aside†so that they can continue with their lawlessness. We appeal to the security forces to now act as responsible citizens and to start actively protecting those who protest within the confines of the law, while coming down hard on those ZANU (PF) and other elements that are bent on committing further crimes against humanity such as abductions and torture.
Mugabe must go! Down with import bans! No to crimes against humanity! Down with Impunity! No to Repression! No to Corruption! Bring back our money! Pay us our Salaries!

If you really think a thug like Mutsvangwa is now a democrat who will want free, fair and credible elections just because he has asked Mugabe to resign then you are very naive and gullible! Which Bible have you been reading my friend because you clearly have no idea what a “damascene moment” means!
