Mujuru who now leads the newly-formed Zimbabwe people first party was greeted by other war veterans who had come to give their support to Mahiya who was arrested last week on allegations of insulting or undermining the authority of the president.
Mahiya was granted bail of $300 and ordered to report to the police twice a week and to reside at his Chitungwiza home.
Also in attendance today was the former minister of War Veterans who is also the chairman of the former freedom fighters, Chris Mutsvangwa.

Former vice-president of zimbabwe, Joyce Mujuru this morning attended the bail hearing for war veterans' spokesperson, Douglas Mahiya.
