– 4 life sentences for murdering 4 people:
Nyarai Round (killed in Eastlea Nov 2022), Chrispen Kanerusine / Mubvana – a prophet in Wedza, Inspector Maxwell Hove – Wedza Police boss, and Munashe Majani
– Plus 10 years x 4 = 40 years for 4 counts of attempted murder (including a detective and a Mutare school employee)
The court rejected his defence that he was haunted by goblins / evil spirits and was mentally insane. State doctors said he had mild to moderate psychosis but knew what he was doing – that’s why he fled to Mozambique after the killings before being caught.
The judge called him a “sadist and psychopath” and said society is safer without him. 3ef84383
He will spend the rest of his life in prison.
