You did not say how you got to know that they are both HIV positive when they themselves are not convinced. I am concerned to know how you found out. But assuming that you have evidence of what you are saying, it is tricky for you to get your uncle to take the pills when he does not believe he is positive. He needs to accept the results of his health first and receive counselling on how best to live a positive life positively.
Understand that it is not easy to accept such a reality. You may advise him to go for another test at a different clinic that he will trust – otherwise your advice to him to take some ARVs will fall on deaf ears.
I know you are doing this because he is someone you care about – but there comes a time when we need to let people decide what to do with their own lives. He is a grown up man who is old enough to make decisions about his own life. – Aunty Lisa
