Macheso shows flop

JOHANNESBURG - THE much talked-about Alick Macheso shows held at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg last week were a big flop, with less than 200 revellers attending. The softly-spoken Macheso admitted to CAJ News that he was disappointed by the small crowd that attended his shows, arguing that t

he organizers did not advertise his shows.

As you can see, the dancers, guitarists and singers have put 100 percent effort making everyone enjoy the night, he said.

Machesos concerns were equally shared by his band manager, William Tsandukwa, who openly lashed out at the organizers for the poor preparations.

It’s our first time to perform here in South Africa but we are equally disappointed by the poor attendance. They did not advertise our shows through the local media, said Tsandukwa.

He said his band would make a return to South Africa in March where they will perform alongside Zimbabwe superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Ringo Madlenkosi of South Africa and other upcoming musicians. CAJ News.
