tyle=”MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt”>LONDON – A team of Zimbabweans, calling themselves the ‘Zimbabwe Veterans’ recently competed in the first Cold Water Swimming Championships to be held in the UK. Swimming against several clubs from around the country, in temperatures below 4°C, the Zimbabweans managed gold in both the Medley Relay and the Freestyle Relay.
The Medley Relay team comprising of Steed Richardson, Matt Fleet, James Watson and Benji Gower (all old boys of CBC Bulawayo) won gold in a closely fought contest, narrowly beating the South London Swimming Club team – Serpentine 1.
The Freestyle Relay was much the same thing with Zimbabwe Veterans again contesting for gold against the South London Swimming team.
