Another little shocker of the weekend was a home win to Chegutu Pirates over third- placed Gunners (1-0) at Pfupajena. They have moved to no. 7 on the log. Blue Jets were handed their first defeat by the log leaders, Harare United, the only team who managed to maintain a clean sheet so far in the league. Blue Jets had come into this game without a defeat from their 10 outings so Harare is the only team with out a defeat so far.
Grain Tigers maintained their 13th position for the fourth week in a row, with a one-all draw to inconsistent Douglas Warriors at GMB Aspindale. Kambuzuma failed to fulfill their home fixture, so Black Mambas have the match to their favor on a 3 nil goal aggregate.
Lengthens maintained their goal scoring spree with another demolition of Felfar Stars 5 – 2 at DZ Stadium on Saturday to keep their chase for the title honors alive. Kurai United managed to put some smiles on their supporters’ faces after a bad mid-week outing to Lulu Rovers with a 2 – 1 win over struggling Shamva. Karoi United managed only a 2-all draw to visiting newcomers Turnal at Chikangwe Stadium.
Dorking should have won their away game to Golden Kopje if it wasn’t for their front runners who failed to utilize numerous chances which came their way but only managed to share the spoils (1-1) but still both teams still maintain bottom of the log positions. – John Remba
