Bristol Vigil

BRISTOL - We hope as many people as possible can make it to this month's ZIMBABWE VIGIL in Bristol, to be held on Saturday June 24 in the usual place at the top of the water steps in the City Centre from 11am to 3pm.
The aim of the vigil is to raise public awareness of the violations of hu

man rights taking place in Zimbabwe; to join the London Vigil in showing support to the people of Zimbabwe and to collect signatures to petition the UN Security Council.

On Thursday, 22nd June, the Pierian Centre in Portland Square is holding a day of Zimbabwean culture, discussion and celebration. This is as part of Refugee Week. There will be workshops in Mbira playing, Zulu drumming and a Gum Boot Dance Class. Zimbabwean food will be served and a discussion led by Gabriel Shumba, exiled Human Rights lawyer and director of the Zimbabwe Exiles Forum.
