Lengthens catch-up

HARARE - Lengthens have dislodged Harare United from the top of the log after collecting six points from their two outings in four days. They first beat Shamva by 3 goals to one before getting the better of another title contender, Turnal, by two goals to nil.

ne from their two outings after being humiliated by third placed Gunners 2 nil at Gwanzura Stadium on Africa Day before being held to a 2 all draw by inconsistent Douglas Warriors to loose the pole position to Lengthens. They have all managed to gunner 30 points from their 13 outings but Lengthens have got the better of the Hararians on goals scored.
Third placed Gunners had the whole weekend of celebrations after beating the former pacesetters in the ZIFA Northern Region League on Africa Day because their other opponents Kambuzuma couldn’t fulfill both their two (Blue Jets) fixtures due to financial constraints.
Other teams which managed to collect all the six points over the four-day fixture weekend are Felfar Stars and Karoi United, Felfar had the better of visiting Lulu Rovers by beating them 3 nil before beating visiting team, ZPC Kariba, by 4 goals to nil. Karoi United on the other hand beat the policemen by 3 goals to one before beating the airmen Blue Jets by one goal to nil in front of their home crowd in Karoi.
Otherwise Felfar Stars came out victors from the two outings from all other teams in the league after managing to score 7 goals from the two outings without conceding a goal from the two outings.
At the bottom of the log Eiffel Flats managed to collect 3 points after getting the better of the other strugglers in the league, Golden Kopje, by beating them by one goal to nil before going down four days later to Grain Tigers by a goal to nil.
