Highlanders beat Saints

HARARE - Bulawayo giants Highlanders took another huge step towards the title when they narrowly beat city rivals Zimbabwe Saints 1-0 in a well-contested Premier Soccer League match at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
In the process, Saints were thrown further into the relegation zone as they

remain firmly rooted at the basement.
But Saints gave a good account of themselves and could have easily won the match especially in the first half when they pinned Bosso in their half for long periods.
Highlanders won the match midway in the second half, when Johannes Ngodzo slotted in a penalty, controversially awarded to them by referee Dave Sibanda.
Champions, CAPS United slipped into the relegation zone when they were beaten 1-0 by Black Rhinos at Gwanzura Stadium.
New CAPS coach, Moses Chunga found no solution to a fired up Rhinos who scored the winning goal through midfielder, Lazarus Muhoni.
Hwange revived their hunt for their first ever premiership title after a 2-1 victory over Buymore, but it is Motor Action whose chase is gaining speed.
Motor Action left Railstars dead on the track after a 2-0 away victory to take their points tally to 34 points, the same number of points as Hwange, and 13 points adrift of runaway leaders, Highlanders.
Mwana Africa and Dynamos drew 1-1 at Trojan Stadium in Bindura and Chapungu were thrashed 3-1 by Masvingo United at Ascot Stadium in Gweru.
Motor Action beat Railstars 2-0 at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo and Monomotapa and Shooting Stars drew 2-2 at Rufaro. – ZimOnline
