Zim-SA beauty pageant to raise funds for orphans

JOHANNESBURG - FORMER English premiership-Coventry City ace striker and Zimbabwe Warriors Captain, Peter Ndlovu, has joined the organisers of the Miss Zimbabwe-South Africa Beauty Pageant Contest, scheduled for November 25, 2006 in Johannesburg.

“Among other things, we will embark on some HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, remove the stigma associating foreigners with crime as well as ploughing back to the community where we live in,” said a spokesman.
“While Zimbabweans may not be the most prominent or significant component of the immigration community in South Africa we have chosen hosting the Miss Zimbabwe-South Africa pageant as a starting point to exemplify the ‘shared South African-ness’ between all the immigrants and the hosts,” he said.
The proceeds of the Miss Zim-SA Agency will be donated to the Hope Centre, a programme run by the Zimbabwe Pastor’s Forum to assist refugees from all African countries. – CAJ News
