MUSINA – Africa’s Kora Award winning Afro-Jazz musical guru, Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, is set to wow audiences in the Limpopo Province next weekend.
The Zimbabwean superstar, who is a darling to South Africans, will battle it out with some highly rated African musicians/artists, among them Papa Wemba of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Fellow Zimbabwean musicians, Jonah Moyo of Devera Ngwena Jazz Band and Metchelle Jambo of Marunga Brothers will be taking part at this international occasion dubbed “Mapungubwe Jazz Festival 2006” in Polokwane, formerly Pietersburg, in Limpopo province.
Not to be left out is the Mozambican singer Xidimingwana and top South African musicians Mzwake Mbuli, Letta Mbulu, Gloria Bosman, Caiphus Semenya, Ntando, Simphiwe Dana and Geoff Mapaya.
The Mapungubwe Jazz festival 2006 is set for 16 December at Polokwane Cricket Stadium in Limpopo province. – CAJ News
