MAFIKENGThe Zimbabwe Young Warriors National Under-20 soccer squad beat Malawi 3-2 in a penalty shootout to win a bronze medal at the just-ended Confederation of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) tournament played at Mmabatho Stadium on Sunday.


As if that was not enough, the Young Warriors goalkeeper, Edmore Sibanda, was voted the best player of the tournament ahead of other 15 young goalkeeprs from the Southern African Development Community 15 countries competing at the tournament.


However, disaster struck the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) when the Young Warriors boycotted their flight to Harare on Monday, demanding their winning bonuses and allowances amounting to US$2060 (about ZW$ 4,8 million).
