Teen boxing star heads for US

JOHANNESBURG - Teenage boxing sensation Edwin Mutunhura will this year become the second local recipient of the Richard Steele Boxing Club's "At Risk Youth" programme.
He has received a personal invitation from the world-renowned referee and promoter to go to Las Vegas, the US, at the beginning

of March for an eight-week internship.
A person friend of former South African president Nelson Mandela (who himself is an avid boxing enthusiast), Richard Steele’s career spans 30 years and his name is in the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
The 18-year old Mutunhura, with 40 wins out of 45 fights in the amateur ranks, previously had a four-year stint in Botswana where he was awarded three certificates for his sporting exploits. Currently, the flyweight medal prospect is polishing up his act at the Stodart Hall Gym in Mbare with national super-bantamweight champion Peter Pambeni assisting him with sparring sessions. – CAJ News
