‘Unfriendly’ response – claim(01-02-07)

JOHANNESBURG - South African soccer coach Carlos Alberto Pareira has apparently turned down Zimbabwe's request for an international friendly on February 7.
In a letter to the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa), South African Football Association (Safa) chief executive Raymond Hack wrote, "Kind

ly note that this matter has been referred to the national coach who will only be in South Africa on January 25 and we will thereafter revert back to you”.
A December 7 date was set aside by the Federation of International Football Associations (Fifa) for practice matches.
Safa said they were keen to engage the Warriors but the final decision rested on the coach.
Pareira has disclosed that he did not want to play an international friendly on that day. According to reports from South Africa, Hack said Pareira had asked for a training camp to get to know the Bafana players rather than play an international friendly on February 7. – Sports Reporter
