It was a good start for Harare soccer giants Dynamos after fellow city rivals Black Rhinos were humiliated by a division one soccer outfit 2-0 at their own backyard. Both Dynamos and Highlanders have scraped through to the second stage of the lucrative and prestigious CBZ FA Cup tournament, after posting some fruitful results over the weekend.

Dynamos 12 – 0 Salfor

HARARE – Soccer giants Dynamos massacred visiting Mutare-based third division soccer side, Salfor 12-0 in a one-sided CBZ FA Cup match played at Rufaro on Sunday.

The result looked like a netball score but, indeed, it was a soccer-match outcome. ‘DeMbare’ produced a scintillating performance from the onset as they threatened early goals.

The Zimbabwe former premiership champions completed the rout of Salfor through hat-trick hero Edward Sadomba, a brace by former Lancashire Steel star striker Justice Majabvi, long forgotten Dynamos forward Norman Maroto, David Shoko, Odience Rundofa, Murape Murape and Sebastian Mtizirwa respectively.

Dynamos, who were displaying unconvincing top-flight football of late, ran riot throughout the match. But soccer analysts warned that the victory does not reflect Dynamos’ strength as they were playing a third division soccer side.
