CAPS United – 0 – Mwana Africa
BINDURA – Highly-fancied CAPS United were held to a goalless draw by Mwana Africa in a well balanced CBZ premiership encounter strongly contested at Trojan Mine Stadium in Bindura on Saturday.
The Moses Chunga-coached CAPS United were expected to brush aside the Bindura nickel miners following an impressive 1-0 victory over defending champions Highlanders at Rufaro Stadium a fortnight ago.
However, CAPS United found Mwana Africa in an uncompromising mood resisting all intimidating tactics by the visitors, repelling all the threatening scoring raids from the pharmaceutical side.
The draw on Saturday saw the top three premiership league log standings remain unchanged with supercharged Masvingo United, who were not active over the weekend remained on third position while high flying Highlanders are on pole position.
Mwana Africa, who too were humbled the previous week played like possessed men as they matched CAPS United players man for man, fighting tooth and nail to grab a point in this nerve wrecking premiership encounter.
The Willard Mashinkila-Khumalo coached Mwana Africa were unlucky not to grab the winner in the 90th minute when their effort at close range was stopped by CAPS United goal minder.
